* Flood Watch for the yentna river at Lake Creek.
* Through Thursday afternoon
* extreme warm temperatures have raised water levels on the yentna river at Lake Creek to bankfull and water levels are expected to continue to rise and may reach minor flood stage of 20.5 feet by early Thursday morning after which levels should fall as temperatures cool.
* Residents and recreational users should be aware that levels are very high and take precautions to protect life and property.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding.
You are encouraged to closely monitor this weather situation. Preparation for this potentially dangerous weather event should begin now.

On tuesady June 18 the weather servise office in Valdez recorded a new record high of 82 degrees. This is the third day in a row that a new record high has been reached... including the all time record of 90 reached on 17 June. The June 18 record for the highest low temperature was also set at 56 degrees... the old record was 53 from 1981.
