Statement as of 6:06 AM CDT on May 23, 2013 ... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am CDT this morning... The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 9 am CDT this morning. * Timing... through 9am this morning then improving. * Visibilities... around one quarter of a mile at times. * Impacts... low visibilities will result in hazardous driving conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving... slow down... use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
