* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Arkansas... north central Arkansas and western Arkansas... including the following areas... in central Arkansas... Pope and Yell. In north central Arkansas... Baxter... Boone... Marion... Newton and Searcy. In western Arkansas... Johnson... Logan... Polk and Scott.
* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Tuesday evening
* the atmosphere is very moist and unstable across the watch area this afternoon... and a slow moving cold front approaching the area will allow thunderstorms with heavy precipitation to develop and move across the area through tomorrow evening. Clusters of storms could be slow moving and many storms could pass across the same areas through tomorrow evening. Rainfall amounts will average between 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts in excess of 4 inches possible.
* Excessive rainfall may result in the flash flooding of small streams... low water crossings... and other flood prone areas.
