to 11 am PDT Thursday...

* waves and surf... surf will build to 9 to 13 feet. Choppy wave
conditions are expected due to strong winds over the waters.

* Timing... high surf will build through late this afternoon and
remain high through midday Thursday.

* Impacts... large breakers and the high risk of rip currents
will make swimming dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
