... Small streams and creeks could rise quickly this weekend...
Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across southwestern Colorado early Saturday morning through late Saturday afternoon. Snow levels are expected to range from about 8500 feet in the morning to near 10000 feet by noon. Rain is expected to melt some of the winter snowpack... therefore small streams and creeks could rise quickly. Use caution if traveling through the backcountry or traveling near low-lying areas along small drainages. Please relay reports of rising water to your local National Weather Service office in Grand Junction.
