The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern Connecticut... Massachusetts and Rhode Island... mainly along and south of the Massachusetts Turnpike. * Until 9 PM EDT this evening. * Some thunderstorms may produce up to 2 inches of rainfall in less than one hour. * Areas of heavy rainfall in a very short period of time may result in flash flooding... particularly in urban and poor drainage areas. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
