The Flood Warning continues for
the Verdigris river at Coffeyville.
* Until Monday afternoon.
* At 5:00 PM Sunday the stage was 16.1 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Monday morning and
continue to rise to near 18.6 feet by early Monday afternoon. The
river will fall below flood stage by Monday afternoon.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... flooding of low-lying areas is expected,
especially along the left bank near the water plant. Further
upstream and downstream from the gage site the river spreads out
into the flood plain.

* Until Monday afternoon.
* At 7:30 PM Sunday the stage was 27.6 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Monday morning and
continue to rise to near 31.2 feet by Monday morning. Then the river
will fall below flood stage by early Monday afternoon.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am CDT Monday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Kansas... including the following
areas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk... Greenwood... Labette...
Montgomery... Neosho... Wilson and Woodson.

* Until 7 am CDT Monday.

* Showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through tonight.
Rain may be moderate to heavy at times. With grounds already
saturated... any additional rainfall will go into runoff and will
likely result in flooding. Minor and moderate river flooding is
already forecast for some of the rivers in southeast Kansas.

* Those with outdoor plans along creeks and rivers need to
monitor the weather situation closely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
