Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:55 PM CDT on August 04, 2015

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Gallatin County in southern Illinois...
Henderson County in northwestern Kentucky...
Webster County in northwestern Kentucky...
Union County in northwestern Kentucky...

* until 600 PM CDT

* at 353 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. The heaviest totals were just south of Morganfield
Kentucky... where radar estimated up to 4 inches of rain. This will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Morganfield... Shawneetown... and Corydon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southern Illinois... southwest
Indiana and western Kentucky... generally to the north of a line
from Harrisburg Illinois to Calhoun Kentucky.

* From Wednesday evening through Thursday evening

* showers and thunderstorms will produce widespread 2 to 3 inch
rainfalls. Some locally higher amounts will be possible.

* Strong thunderstorms will produce torrential rainfall that may
quickly inundate drainage systems... resulting in flash
flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
