... Patchy freezing fog may impact part of the quad state region
From now through at least 8 am CST... patchy freezing fog may cause
problems for early morning travelers in the quad state region.
Reporting locations in southern Illinois... as well as along the
Mississippi rivers and Ohio rivers in southwest Missouri and west
Kentucky have shown the development of patchy freezing fog since
For travelers... the patchy freezing fog is expected to be most
prominent over southeast Illinois in an area bounded by Route 13
to the north... as well as interstates 57 and 24 in the south and
west. Additional reductions in visibility may be found from Van
Buren to Poplar Bluff in southeast Missouri... along Interstate 64
east of Mount Vernon Illinois to the Wabash River.
Another area of concern for fog development will be along and east
of the Land Between The Lakes and eastward toward Greenville and
Fort Campbell Kentucky.
This fog may be shallow in some areas... but it will still be
capable of producing a this coating of ice on elevated
surfaces... such as bridges and walkways... as well as untreated
secondary roads. Cars and sidewalks will also be impacted by any
coating of ice due to the fog.
The fog should quickly thin and dissipate within the first hour
