Looking back further in the records we found a 66 degree low temperature recorded back may 19 1877.
Therefore we need to retract the previous record event report.

... Preventative maintenance scheduled for the Twin Cities weather radio this afternoon...
The National Weather Service and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be conducting routine preventative maintenance on the NOAA Weather Radio transmitter serving the Twin City Metro area.
There may be extra noises heard over the weather radio broadcast during this maintenance period... which will occur between noon and 400 PM today.
