Through 3 am MST...snow...moderate at times...will continue across northern Sheridan County and northwest Cherry County. Snowfall rates of 1/2 inch per hour will occur in a band of snow from Chadron to Merriman. North winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph shortly with gusts to 45 mph in open areas. Visibility will fall to 1/4 mile in snow and blowing snow. Farther south...fog...light freezing rain and freezing drizzle continue from Imperial north to Oshkosh. A light ice accumulation is possible on roadways as some surfaces may fall below the freezing mark. An Arctic cold front will move through early this morning and sweep this moisture south into Kansas. All of this winter weather was associated with an upper level disturbance moving through the northern plains which will usher in much colder Arctic air this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this morning for Sheridan...Cherry...Keya Paha and Boyd counties.

The Flood Warning continues for the North Platte river at Lewellen. * Until Thursday morning. * At 03/02 20:00 the stage was 7.6 * flood stage is 7.5 feet. * Impact... at 7.5 feet... minor flood stage. Overflow and high water table levels will cause seepage and flooding of basements and crawl spaces near and along the river.
