Scattered showers and thunderstorms have been increasing slightly in coverage and intensity during the late afternoon across the East Texas lakes and Toledo Bend area. Although thunderstorms are short lived...they may produce frequent deadly lightning...strong gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph...small hail...and rainfall of one half to one inch...in a short period of time. Persons on area lakes should be prepared to quickly head to shore if threatening weather approaches. This activity will continue to track northward at around 25 mph...into the evening.
