Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 11:49 AM CDT on May 29, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Arkansas... northwest Louisiana...
southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas... including the
following areas... in southwest Arkansas... Hempstead... Howard...
Lafayette... Little River... Miller... Nevada and Sevier. In
northwest Louisiana... Bossier and Caddo. In southeast
Oklahoma... McCurtain. In northeast Texas... Bowie... Camp...
Cass... Cherokee... Franklin... Gregg... Harrison... Marion...
Morris... Panola... Red River... Rusk... Smith... Titus... Upshur
and wood.

* Through Saturday evening

* showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage and
intensity through Saturday as an upper level tough and a cold
front edge slowly eastward. Locally heavy rainfall amounts of
one to three inches are expected... with isolated higher amounts
to near four inches. The soil remains saturated and this new
rainfall will quickly runoff into our already swollen local
and area wide drainage systems.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas... especially in the vicinity
of rapidly rising bayous... creeks and streams... due to
potentially very heavy rainfall... will be most prone to flash
flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
