05/15/2012 0657 PM 3 miles SW of Max Meadows, Wythe County. Lightning, reported by County official. It was determined that lightning resulting in two power poles being knocked over onto Lots Gap Road. 05/15/2012 0630 PM 4 miles ENE of Speedwell, Wythe County. Flash flood, reported by County official. Gleaves Road had 2 feet of water flowing over it at one point... and several other roads were closed in the area due to high water at about this same time. These include Cripple Creek Rd... Slate Spring branch Rd... Glade Rd... and huddle Rd. 05/15/2012 0700 PM WSW Speedwell, Wythe County. Flash flood, reported by County official. Old bank Road was closed in Speedwell due to water flowing over it from a tributary of Cripple Creek. 05/15/2012 0652 PM 3 miles SW of Max Meadows, Wythe County. Hail e0.50 inch, reported by law enforcement. Dime size hail at the intersection of Chapman Road and Lots Gap Road 05/15/2012 0652 PM 3 miles SW of Max Meadows, Wythe County. Hail e1.00 inch, reported by public. Quarter size hail on Lots Gap Road close to Danner Road... covered the ground to an inch in depth 05/15/2012 0655 PM 1 miles SSW of Max Meadows, Wythe County.
