Ashland County in northwest Wisconsin... this includes the city of Ashland... southeastern Bayfield County in northwest Wisconsin... Iron County in northwest Wisconsin... north central Sawyer County in northwest Wisconsin... * until 315 am CDT Monday * at 912 PM CDT Ashland County sheriff reported water over a portion of Highway 2 in Ashland due to water on the Road. The Highway is down to two lanes in town. Heavy rain has occurred already today across eastern Bayfield County and over the western half of Ashland County. Radar continued to indicate thunderstorms over all of Ashland County... with lighter rain over Bayfield County. Expect the storms to move east through Iron County this evening. Additional storms may develop yet tonight over much of northwest Wisconsin... leading to more flooding issues. Expect area rivers and streams to rise overnight. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. 05/19/2013 0635 PM Hayward, Sawyer County. Hail e0.25 inch, reported by amateur radio. 40 mph winds also occurred. 05/19/2013 0607 PM Couderay, Sawyer County. Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by law enforcement. Sawyer County sheriff reported several big trees down blocking portions of County Highway c and State Highway 27 and 70 near Couderay and Couderay township.
