Although it is still officially winter ... the days are slowly getting longer. Tomorrow is 1 minute and 10 seconds longer ... Having just spent the weekend at a game reserve outside Sun City at Pilanseberg, the winter is evident with the reserve being completely brown and dry. Am already counting days until September, until Spring.

Just because I have planned a weekend filled with early mornings the real winter is arriving in Gauteng. For the first time this winter the temperatures are set to dip below 0 .... for many people around the world temperatures of this nature are a daily occurrence, for South African's it is a BIG deal. I have only once noticed my car temperature gauge drop with a minus sign on it, and that was really really cold for me. That is saying a lot because I have had my car...

The moon has always fascinated me ... and I seem to get happier each month the moon gets bigger. I get lost in thoughts of sitting next to the Sea of Copernicus. Every time I go running I look at the moon and I look forward to my run tonight when the moon will be 86% illuminated. Today was typical winter weather on the Highveld in South Africa, cooler evenings and mornings that have a bite, but beautiful days. As long as the wind doesn't blow it could be summer, alb...

With only 4% of the moon illuminated last night ... it was ridiculously dark. When the moon is small I feel almost melancholy and a full moon seems to bring with it happiness and hope. Why?

With sunrise at 6.42 this morning, I was running around the hockey and soccer fields. I could see and feel the layer of frost which was crunchy under my feet as I ran. It was beautiful but cold and for the next hour a bunch of girls and myself had to keep moving in an attempt to keep warm, so bootcamp was intense.
