Life happens for a week and you wake up Sunday morning to a tropical system in the Atlantic! Exciting stuff, although it looks as if it may roll on out to sea.

Welcome home, Blizz! Congrats on no longer being a freshman. :) So good to log on and see your comments on the upcoming storm. Wunderground has it in our forecast, but Mount Holly doesn't, and in their discussion they agree with you that it's going to weaken before arriving possibly near here.

The season has begun!

I'm in Maine dodging the hot weather. ;-)
Had a super day with family, celebrating our son's Graduation.
Life is good!

Rainfall readings for today, vary a bit on the shore from 1.5 t0 over 2.3 in., between this area and TINTON FALLS. Waves yesterday were 4-6 ft in a shore brake. Took 2 to the ER for near drowning. Sea temp was 58-60 F. Rips were tough.

so far no rain to speak about for LSV. We've had a few brief showers, but they haven't registered in the rain gauge.

Amazing that people get in the water with water temps not even 60F. Did they have on a dry suit, goofy? With waves that size I would guess they were boogie boarders or surfers? Or windsurfers, huh?

Blizz - any thoughts on this weekend's weather? From the WU forecast it looks like mostly unsettled weather. I guess from a front hung up on the coast? The past month we have had a lot of grey days. This past weekends weather was beautiful. I could go for those kind of days for May. I guess I would have to move to San Diego.

Sorry, I should have been more specific...no registered rainfall for Campbelltown, PA.

Currently there is a gloomy fog over the lower housatonic river. The last two days have been a bit depressing.. need to get the pool temp up!

I'm glad that the weather cooperated for the weekend, though. Played in a disc golf tournament in Bridgeport Sunday that raised over $2k for the CT humane society and could not have asked for a sunnier day!

Hoping any storms stay north and west for Wednesday (Yankee game). More importantly, the forecast so far is pretty good for one of my best friends' wedding on Sunday.

Have had 1.45" of rain yesterday and today. Looks like most of the heavier precip is over, for now, LT Stamford CT.

So, I spent the day at the Vermont Library Conference. Our keynote speaker was scheduled to speak first, followed by three workshops. However, after flying half way here her connecting flight was cancelled due to bad weather [LaGuardia, Monday]. She was told she would have to spend the night in the airport. So of course our Fearless Leader Conference Chair immediately booked her into a hotel and got her a shuttle over to it.
Her flight this morning couldn't arrive until about an hour after she was scheduled to speak, and it too was running late. So we rescheduled the day, placing the first workshop ahead of the keynote address. That meant her address would bump into lunchtime, and THAT could not be rescheduled, as the host facility only serves lunch during certain hours. So she talked through the first half of lunchtime, and folks who were hungry or had a special meeting to go to went first.
She was a speaker worth waiting for, too! What's more, she had time only to present, then grab a lunch she could take with her, and left on an early afternoon flight. Her talk was on how to engage teens in Libraries. Great stuff! I also went to workshops about Social Networking and Home Schoolers' use of Libraries, and English as a Second Language and American Library use.

The excitement toward the end of the day was that right there in the middle of the campus green, between our main building and the campus library, there was a construction crew doing some work and a crane fell over! [No injuries.] I came out of my second workshop to the sight of fire engines!

Getting a thunderstorm at the moment in Campbelltown, PA. From the radar the rain is moving SE to NW

Storms have stayed to the eastern side of the river this afternoon. A lot of thunder, though. It's so muggy out, too. Boooooo.

We seem to have been absent of severe thunderstorms so far this spring. Is this the longest we've gone into the season without a real severe storm?

For awhile the storms stayed just to my north. Now it is over me.

I hope these pop-ups move out, but it looks like they are staying put

After a few hours of thunder and clouds, it's finally raining here in Wormleysburg.

0.36" here so far and it isn't raining right now. This rain I have been getting is good for the gardens. I planted my vegetables and some perenial plants just recently and it is nice to get the rain instead of being watered by the hose.

No rain here today, but it sure was muggy!

Two big down-pours tonight, one from about 7:30 to 8:30, the other from about 11:30 till 12:30. Total rain from both was 1.30". No lightning or thunder though. Stamford CT.

1" hail with gusts to 60mph, tree damage & flash flooding reported yesterday throughout my old stomping grounds in Bucks County, PA. It's that green strip in SE PA on the precip estimate above. Storm moved from southeast to northwest in the early afternoon.

Will the sun ever come back?

It's summer in DC. 84f with southerly winds. No wind impacts here yet from that developing tropical storm off GA/SC.

It's been windy all day and into evening.
The front finally came through about a half hour ago, so at last we got a little rain, but no thunder.
It sure looked interesting on the radar up in Quebec, though!

Miss Ally

Today Ally graduated from Preschool!  She had a great year.  She is going to miss all her friends, and her teachers.  A couple of her friends from preschool will be at her Kindergarten next year.  

Even though Ally LOVED school, she is very excited for our upcoming summer.  She and Max are going to take swim lessons together.  Ally and another one of her friends are going to Dance Camp together, and, of course, we are headed back to Story Land!!!  That leaves us with 2 weeks over the whole summer with no plans....yet!  

Health Wise Ally is doing well.  She has lots of energy, she gives lots of hugs and kisses, and is even a bit naughty once in a while!  She is having a really hard time putting weight on.  We have decreased the pooping issue, and she has increased her food intake; but the scale still reads about 28 pounds.  This is frustrating for us (and for Ally, as we are constantly making her eat). 

I think I said it last time...but it feels like we have been running a marathon for the past 4 years, and finally having a break is great.  It makes everything a little easier.  I can't wait for 4 years of cancer treatment to feel like it was so long ago that I can't remember how absolutely draining it was.  Ahhhhh....moving forward.

In a couple of weeks Ally will have her first dance recital.  She is very excited and nervous!  I am only allowed to take pictures during dress rehearsal, so I will make sure to post those.

I am at my mom's house in Lancaster County and I see the high cirrus clouds from them.

Getting very heavy rain. Constant lightning. Cells merged.

One backbuilt northward from Tarrytown. One drifted in from the north. Flash flooding is occurring as evrrything instantly jumped their banks.

Getting another very heavy rain cell that developed on the western edge of the previous action and slid in.

Several inches have fallen. Very brief tiny hail early on. Max wind 25 earlier and after cell passage. Mainly calm.

65f down from 81 prior.

The very heaviest of the cells, stayed just North and NW of me by a few miles. Saw where Pcroton's area was being dumped on. The rain has almost stopped now. Will take the dogs out and check the rain guage. Got only 0.20" of rain from the afternoon T.Storm. Most of the heavier part of the cell remained NNW of me by a few miles. Stamford CT.

We just got power back here in northern Dauphin county after a little over 2 hours without it. The wind wasn't exactly terrible at my house with a gust of about 40-45mph and there wasn't any lightning until we got into the cold pool behind the squall line.
