Yes, I know. I am here and then I'm not. Only so much time for computer shenanigans and FB is such a time suck that WU fell by the wayside the past 18 months except for lurking during storms. And yes, I surrendered to FB - mostly because of staying in touch with the kids.

All is well. We just completed a move to Rhode Island and will be living near Newport for the next tour of duty. At least a year, maybe 3 - who knows in this crazy military life. :)

Very weird to have moved without any kids - I have no handy slave labor to help unpack the hundreds of boxes of STUFF accumulated over the years. Smaller house here, so I thank goodness for a large basement.

Still waiting for the WARM weather that the locals claim exists here in the summer - maybe the incoming warm front will bring some for a day or two. In the meantime, I will keep wearing jeans and my sweatshirt jacket. The L&M thinks about long johns nearly every day, but I won't let him have them until fall. Of course, in southern New England, fall may arrive next week, LOL.

I'm staying busy weather wise by keeping an eye out to the far South and watching weather with Surfie and a friend in the Caymans. Looks like rain for Ogal by Friday, too.

Well, I never! Welcome back to the fold.... those of us who did not succumb to FB had no idea you were still in the land of the living. All I know about Rhode Island are there are some red coloured chickens who live there! You moved with no children... do you still have the dogs? Did they move with you? Sandi - Ogal and the Pyrate Queen knew where to find me, LOL. And SurfMom, too. Yes, we still have the dogs - this is the first move of their lives and has been a bit stressful, but we finally have some fence up now and they can romp, although they only have about 1/4 to 1/3 the amount of space they are used to. Son didn't want to leave VaBeach and is managing to support himself for the moment at least. Baby girl is spending her summer break from college in VaBeach since that is where a) she got a job, and b) her boyfriend lives. So, no children with us this move. For now. :) We live on an island (which the state, Rhode Island is not) that is 5 miles wide by 15 miles long. 3 towns, Newport which was the resort enclave of the very wealthy in the early part of the 20th century, Middletown (where we live) which was mostly a rural farm area, but now has many businesses and wineries, and Portsmouth - the main fishing port for the island. I am still quite busy unpacking and have not explored much yet. ‎63 in Middletown with a 4mph breeze from the NE. So much for our 'cool' weather, supposed to get back into the 80s today. No rain in the forecast for the next 5 days - I will have to water the garden for sure. First load of laundry going - if I get it on the line early I may get two loads dried outside today. I need to get the L&M to string another line - one just isn't quite enough! VaBeach is at 78 now, with highs in the low to mid 80s for the next few days before climbing back into the 90s for the weekend. And rain - lots of chances for rain in Hampton Roads the next few days.
