No fog, overcast, total calm, 16C, temp to rise along with the humidity into mid 20's, then decline by this evening. Similar conditions for the weekend.

A verbal report after a subtle note via text last evening from UNB. From this distance looks as if Emily making the transition, for the most part, better than she thought. Classes are interesting, how she is doing don't know, but not a negative comment on any of them, as always some portions better than others, has made new friends. A niece will be working at UNB this fall, Arn's daughter, both sisters and next generation met and had lunch with Emily yesterday, all good.

Fishing news still remains static, the availability of acquiring bait entering the conversation more and more each day. Less salt bait in some cases and going to fresh frozen, an expensive way to catch a critter.

Morning David, similar conditions to Cranberry Isle has been our weather for sure. The lobster situation in the Gulf remains tense, news advising processors full up, the boats tied up for a day to allow the glut to be processed. Some suggestion, at least in one area, a max of 800lbs per day per boat, with the price where it is hard to make it pay. Various reports from the 'grey zone' on level of catch, some say very good, others can hardly make it go, of course the source of the info are from fisherman fishing there. Like you the 'stranger from away level" begining to decline. However with the advance of the boomers the shoulder season bringing more folks to the island after Labour Day. White beaked dolphins, sperm whales, but no Right Whales in the area all summer. The dolphins first time in many years, Right Whales should be here in abundance,at least by the calender. Nice morning now, clear, can tell it will be humid, however with a little air movement we should have the benefit of a grand one for sure. Emily on her way home this afternoon, via Quispam, of course. She will be back on Sunday, one more week at the Boys & Girls Club then final rundown to the move to Fredericton. The week has been worth the effort as it has taken the unknown and pretty well filed it for when the real thing begins. Has enjoyed the exposure, and meeting new young people. Gerald now on his regular patrol route, haven't talked with him myself, however Otis reports things are well with no longterm problems evident. We appreciate the offer to look over Emily, she is finding lots of support, like yourself many folks she hasn't met. The shopping trip, supposedly for the final must haves, lined up for the last week of August, whatshisname travelling overseas with his mother for a couple of weeks. Have a good one.
