Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that high whispys continued to pass over the northern and central Sea most of yesterday and last night.
Early this morning the last of these high clouds will pass over the Sea and then the Sea should be pretty much clear for the rest of the day.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where there are no clouds in the area until you get deep in Central America.
Looking now at the ITCZ/monsoon trough I can see there is very little activity along the zone this morning just some isolated scattered showers here and there and that’s it.
The Tehuantepec continues to see very moderate winds and they are forecast to continue through the 3-day forecast period.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where off the coast of Oregon and Washington is what the guys with the PHDs are calling a quazi Stationary low. It’s about 1000 mb and is forecast to remain stationary for a couple of days bringing rain to the Great northwest and extreme Northern California.
The concern is that this system will cause some flooding due to the repetitive showers as it lingers over the region.
Redding north south be affected by this Storm that should last until mid week then another system is proged to move onto the west coast.
The rest of the state will enjoy a slight warming trend under building high pressure until Wednesday when another low and associated cold front moving in from the Pacific.
Then Friday another potentially stronger system is forecast to blanket all of California.
Today in southern California it will be dry and mild today and tomorrow then they can expect to see showers starting Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Looking now over to the southwest where high pressure will stall over the region into early next week only producing some periodic high clouds along with above average temperatures. A cold front will move into the region on Wednesday bringing cooler and breezy conditions along with a slight chance of showers near the California border.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like we will start of the weekend with brisk winds in the central Sea this afternoon. A bit less than 20. Easter Sunday should be very pleasant with wind in the moderate ranges.
The southern Sea should see moderate northerlies over the Easter weekend.
The Riviera should have moderate winds from the NW today with long period swells from the SW at around 5 feet.
Someone asked me yesterday what I meant by moderate. Here is how I rate the winds.
Light 5-11, Moderate 12-17, brisk 18-20, Strong 21-25, very strong 25-35.
So all in all it looks like it should be a pleasant Easter Weekend. I’ll be dying Easter eggs today and hide them tonight. I can never find them all. It’s that short term memory thing.
