Click above to Go to the Sonrisa Net Website Wednesday, July 11, 2012 Voice to Text--- .Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see there was a big honk’n storm over Sonora last night. It started as 4 separate thunderbumper in the early evening and they all grew and finally merged around midnight. There was a solid line of storms from just north of Mazatlan into SW Arizona at 2:30 this morning. The storm did not encroach much into the Sea however at 2:30 we were having 24 knot gusts here in the cove. Yuma Radar showed the storm covering the area between Guaymas and Puerto Panesco at 4am this morning. Guaymas was the only station along the Sonoran coast to report any raind and it was only about 1/10 of an inch. By 5:30 here in the Cove the winds had pretty much died however we still had small waves on shore. By 7am it was flat. This morning’s 5:30 image showed the storm moving over the top of Tucson. Interesting, neither Tucson nor Bob’s station at Herford showed any rain accumulations. Right now it looks like the entire Sea has pockets of scattered dark bottomed fluffys. Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where it looks like the entire west coast of Mexico has had thunderbumpers all night and continuing this morning. If the recordings were right Puerto Vallarta had 2.64 inches of rain since midnight and 7.64 inches yesterday. Looking now in our Tropical Kitchen where we have Tropical Storm Daniel, Hurricane Emilia, and invest 96. First Daniel: he is around 1200 miles ESE of Hawaii this morning. He will become depressed as he gets closer to Hilo this afternoon. Next Sister Emilia: She is currently about 700 miles SW of the Cape this morning following in the wake of Daniel. She is packing 90 mph winds right now and is forecast to increase slightly today before starting to wind down later today and tomorrow. Next we have “wanna-be” invest 96 which is about 450 miles south of Manzanillo this morning. It is much better organized this morning and the National Hurricane Center is giving it an 80% chance of becoming cyclonic in the next 48 hours. When this happens it will become our 6th named storm in the Eastern Pacific basin this season and the name will be Tropial storm Fabio. Rather a swishy name for a himicane. I digress! Ok, that’s what’s going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where the entire west coast will be enjoying a typical July day. Hot inland and in the 80s along the coast. In southern California the high pressure will bring hot weather to the inland areas for the next few days. The deserts and mountains could see a few thunderbumpers from moisture moving in from the SW today and increasing later in the week. Late in the week a trough of low pressure will approach the California coast and cool things off a bit. That’s what’s gong on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the entire Sea should see moderate southerlies for today and tomorrow. Friday the southerlies in the northern and central Sea will increase to around 20 knots during the day. The southern Sea will continue to see light to moderate SW wind for the 3-day forecast period. 73s Y’all Wednesday, July 11, 2012 Don't chisel these forecasts in stone.
