Voice to Text--- .Looking down into the Sea this morning I can’t see any clouds in the Sea this morning. No clouds on the outside of the Baja peninsula eeither. It looks like the high pressure out there will be keeping the region clear of any cloudiness at least for the next 24 hours. Looking south to the Mexican Riviera I can see that a pretty solid plume of clouds is blanketing the area from just south of Mazatlan to the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Interesting where these clouds originate. Normally we see convections building along the ITCZ/monsoon trough or even in the western subtropics and then drift with the west/east flow in the basin toward Mexico. These clouds actually originate over the Amazon. There is a long plume of clouds that traverse South America and enter the Eastern Pacific Basin around Columbia and Ecuador and move north past Central America and make landfall along the Riviera. I have never seen a pattern like this before. I don’t think this is significant, just interesting and it’s a pretty slow morning weather wise and I though I’d share it with you. I digress. Looking now at the Gulf of Tehuantepec the support for the strong winds in the Gulf has weakened and today the winds should be less than 20. This weekend the pressure gradient will build and bring winds to almost Gale force whistling through the Chivela pass into the Gulf. I have archive records that go back almost 16 years and that Storm that came down the Baja coast was the strongest winter Pacific Storm in my records. Rain totals were as high as 2 inches in 6 hours. OK, that’s it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where looking out into the Pacific I can see the storms lined up that will keep the Great Northwest wet all week. For Northern California rain chances will continue into Saturday as a low slides south over the state. Another low is anticipated to move into northern California on Sunday. With mostly light showers to the valleys and light snow showers to the Sierras Looking now at southern California where it will be a bit cooler today. A rather weak low and associated cold front will be moving down the coast today and will be moving inland tomorrow with the possibility of some light rain and mountain snow to the southland. A better chance of rain will come Sunday night into Monday when a stronger front moves through. Looking now over to the southwest where it should be warm and dry into the weekend. A series of modest low systems will bring a few valley rain and mountain snow showers the first half of next week. It will also be breezy in the southwest next week. That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence all of Baja can expect to see abundant sunshine today. Wind-wise the northern Sea should see moderate northerlies today. The central Sea a bit more in the 18-22 knot ranges. The southern Sea moderate northerlies today. Tomorrow the entire Sea will see southern winds strongest in the central Sea and moderate in the north and south. Sunday looks very pleasant with very moderate winds for the entire Sea. The Riviera today will be overcast with a bit cooler temperatures. The temperatures in Baja will be in the mid to low 70s today.
