The predicted high is 70 here today. It will be the warmest day since early last fall. I'm excited to run my new lawn mower I purchased a few weeks ago. The mister has decided that he doesn't want to mow anymore but he thought our old mower was still fine. Um, No. The old mower took 12-20 pulls of the cord before it started. At that point I was already to go in and have some iced tea. The new one doesn't quite cooperate on the first pull, but at the second one it roars to life. Then, watch out because this one is self propelled and I need to be ready to GO! Back and forth and back and forth in semi straight rows and in about 15 minutes it is DONE! Wonderful!
Our beautiful daughter has been here for two weeks, which is one reason I haven't been here chatting with you all lately. It is wonderful to spend time with her again after a 13 month absence. We just enjoy spending time together and laughing and talking and hugging because we can't believe she is back here again. It has been amazing.
She brought me some lovely things from Chile. A beautiful blanket from the Atacama Desert that I have been using as a tablecloth. I'll have to take a pic. Today is my birthday and she is my present. She'll be here about 2 more weeks, so there is still plenty of time to enjoy ourselves! Thanks to all of you who still stop by and leave a message. I value the time you share.

New month deserves a new outlook and a new blog entry. Today I viewed my first real sign of spring here along Lake Michigan... and then as I walked back toward home I laughed as I saw a flock of wild turkeys crossing behind me "Abbey Road style." Yes, I believe the mailman's words were correct, "The worst of it is over." Only a few more weeks until Spring Break and Easter. The birds were even singing this morning as I was getting ready for school.

Seems like it is about time to start a new blog since it is a new year. I was looking at my New Years Eve picture from last year and was surprised to see less snow than we have now. After all, it IS Michigan and we are suppose to have snow. The ground has just little patches of the white stuff here and there...last January we had none on this day.

This is beautiful view is just a few minutes away from my home here along Lake Michigan. It pretty much looks like this all year around, except on the snowiest days of hard winters. It is timeless.

I'm very proud of my daughter and her many gifts and abilities. She beautifully writes a travel blog called "Postcards from Amanda," on Word Press. Today, I will share the link since many of you are already following her.http://postcardsfromamanda.com/We didn't get to see her this summer. My husband says it is like "trying to catch a butterfly." I miss her and I wish she would land here in Michigan sometime soon!
