Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 69 and it feels like 69. Heat Advisory now in effect for North MS until 7pm Sunday night. Heat Index will range between 105 to 114. Highs will continue to range between 92 and 107 with lows between 71 and 75. Rain chances come back into the picture by middle to late part of next week. These storms will be isolated and some could be strong to severe with large hail and gusty winds. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 74 and it feels like 74. Today’s high is 106 with a low of 76. Saturdays high is 104.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, a westward moving tropical wave that is located about 1,150 miles East of the Windward Islands continues to produce disorganized showers and a few thunderstorms. Any development of this system should be slow to occur as it moves Westward at 10-15mph. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Eastern Pacific remains quiet.
Hope yall are having a great Friday and I'll have another post tomorrow morning. Continue to pray for the tornado victims and those affected by damaging weather events.
