Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 75 and it feels like 75. Highs will continue to range between 82 and 92 with lows between 62 and 73. There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms today through next Monday. Few storms could be strong to severe each day with gusty winds being the main threat. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 75 and it feels like 75. Todays high is 90and a low of 74 with a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Sundays high is 90 with a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, we have Hurricane Kirk. Winds are at 75mph with a pressure of 989mbars. Movement Northeast at 23mph. Not a threat to land. In the Atlantic, we have Tropical Storm Leslie. Winds are at 70mph with a pressure of 994mbars. Movement is West-Northwest at 17mph. Expected to become a hurricane by later today and may have impacts on Bermuda. In the Eastern Pacific, we have Tropical Storm Ileana. Winds are at 50mph with a pressure of 998mbars. Movement is West at 9mph. Not a threat to land and will continue to weaken. Also, in the Eastern Pacific, an elongated trough of low pressure is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms extending several hundred miles offshore of the coast of Southern Mexico and Central America. Upper-level winds are marginally conducive for gradual development of this system as it moves to the West-Northwestward at 10-15mph during the next couple of days. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a medium chance, 30%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
Hope yall are having a great Saturday and I'll have another post tomorrow.
