	Storms today and Monday, watching Atlantic and Eastern Pacific

Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 74 and it feels like 74. Highs will continue to range between 83 and 93 with lows between 61 and 73. There is a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms today and a 50% chance of scattered storms tomorrow. Few storms could be strong to severe later today/Monday with the main threats being hail up to quarter size, damaging winds up to 60mph, and a chance of an isolated tornado or two. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 77 and it feels like 77. Todays high is 90 and a low of 74 with an 80% chance of thunderstorms. Mondays high is 93 with a 50% chance of isolated thunderstorms.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, we have Tropical Storm Kirk. Winds are at 50mph with a pressure of 1002mbars. Movement Northeast at 32mph. Not a threat to land. In the Atlantic, we have Tropical Storm Leslie. Winds are at 70mph with a pressure of 994mbars. Movement is Northwest at 15mph. Expected to become a hurricane by early Thursday morning and may have impacts on Bermuda. Also, in the Atlantic, a surface trough interacting with an upper-level low is producing an area of showers and thunderstorms about 1075 miles Northwest of the Cape-Verde Islands. Some slow development of this disturbance is possible over the next few days as it moves West-Southwestward at 10-15mph. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 20%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. In the Eastern Pacific, we have Tropical Depression Ileana. Winds are at 35mph with a pressure of 1007mbars. Movement is West at 10mph. Not a threat to land and will continue to weaken. Also, in the Eastern Pacific, satellite data indicates that the area of low pressure located about 250 miles Southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico has become better defined this morning. In addition, shower and thunderstorm activity continues to organize and a tropical depression could form later today. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a high chance, 90%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves West-Northwestward at around 15mph.

Hope you made it thru OK Johnny, with Sunday night's Thunder Storms, they looked pretty intense as they rolled thru NE Mississippi. Also I believe Leslie will become a Hurrican well before Thursday,(the time frame you stated), possibly within the next 24-36 hours. Bermuda could indeed be in for some trouble. Yeah, I made it through fine last night. Had heavy rain, wind, thunder, and lightning, otherwise, was not too bad. Did have a lot of warnings though. My county, Monroe, in particular had three separate tornado warnings issued. Have not heard if there was a confirmed tornado reported with these storms from last night.
