	Nice rains came rather unexpectedly

It showered on and off throughout the day on Monday and the total in my gauge for the 36 hours preceeding 6PM was 1.1 inches.

Didn't have many sunny periods during the day so the high temperature was a few degrees below normal but quite comfortable nonetheless.

The Hilo radar is now working as it should.

We could use some of your rain here. The wild fires are burning hundreds of thousands of acres and the smoke is unbearably thick. I'm out on injury (groin pull) therefor am not on the fire line. I don't know if it is a curse or a blessing. The valley is so thick with smoke, the visibility is about 1 1/2-2 miles. Wish a buyer would come along so we can make our big move. Fortunately were not in a hurry since my sons accident. No matter what happens, we'll be here until he is healed as he may have to have 2 more surgeries and still has to have the pins removed from both legs. Hope all is well with you and your banana farm. I sure wish I could send some of the rain to the mainland. But that, of course, is impossible. There are parts of these islands that are suffering from drought and fires as well so it is not unique to the continental US. I just happened to stumble across your blog and noted your comment about the cyclical change in climate that you're experiencing. That got me curious about how ocean temperature fluctuations, such as El Niño and La Niña, affect your weather patterns. I also noticed from your profile that you're a hobby farmer. Though in a far different climate, I am a hobby farmer, too, and give the excess to those in need.
