	Nothing new to report

Very normal here for the past week or so. Slight rainfall which is usually about a quarter inch overnight. Clear skies in the early morning with sunny, breezy days, orographic cloud buildups against the mountains in the afternoon and normal temps at sea level of 82 high and 70 or so as the low.

If things change I'll make another blog entry.

I also watch the non-quiet weather events around the world as you do for the Atlantic/Caribbean and Gulf. I did spend part of my early life on the East Coast and a recent two years in Florida during the two hurricane active years of '04 and '05. I was helping a relative who was in her final stage of life so I went there to take care of her. We had to evacuate from Charley and several others brushed us by with t-storms galore and flooding. I think tropical cyclones are just fascinating and have since I took aeronautical meteorology in flying school in North Jersey so many years ago. I even 'chased' a couple of them while in FL that I knew would not affect the Tampa Bay area at all. The best one was Rita when I drove down to the Glades to watch her pass between me and Havana! That is the first time, on my return trip, that I ever saw whitecaps on Lake Okeechobee! I have relative and friends all over the state of Florida. It I were not so attached to the Big Island and was going to live on the mainland, I'd live somewhere between Clewiston and Everglades City on a backroad.
