Hello Wunderground friends. I’m finally made it down to South America today to visit Paraguay and maybe Brazil or Argentina. My original plans of documenting the giant waterfalls in Brazil have changed due to no water falling. I would love to go to Patagonia in Argentina but I don’t think I’ll have enough time to visit the Glaciers this trip. I may try to visit the rainforest in Brazil if there is time. I have to be back to the USA by May 2nd to join Cloud 9 Tours for my 4 week tornado chasing excursions in tornado alley. Stay tuned to the blog starting May 3rd for a photo journal of the 2008 tornado chase season.
This current blog I will be sharing photos from an amazing experience in Key Largo Florida while swimming with the dolphins with my girlfriend Andrea. I did some research on the best place to swim with the dolphins and hands down was told by many Dolphins Plus was the place to go. We had 3 programs to pick from and elected to go with the “structured swim”. Dolphins Plus offers a “structured swim” which is a more hands on experience where you work directly with a trainer and the dolphins will conduct different tricks including giving you a kiss, dancing with you, jumping through a hoop, pushing you forward by your feet, and rolling over on their back so you can rub the dolphins belly. The second program is a “natural swim” where you snorkel with the dolphins naturally but you don’t get to do most of the tricks. And finally there is the “Sea Lion” swim where you work with a trainer and get to swim with the sea lion and do tricks. I can’t comment too much on the “Natural swim” and “Sea Lion” experience since we did not do those but I can say the “Structured Swim” was an extremely memorable experience. Everyone at dolphins plus was all smiles as these dolphin interactions are very relaxing and give you a sense of connection to nature and a love for Dolphins.
I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Key Largo to do a dolphin swim with “Dolphins Plus”. It is truly an experience that you will never forget. I would like to thank Art, Mary Lou (Our Trainer), Bella (Our Dolphin) and the rest of the staff at dolphins plus for an experience we will never forget!
