Many areas of the country are subject to nighttime storms, which can be very dangerous if it involves severe weather and/or tornadoes. Here in New England it doesn't happen very often. Our storms are fueled by the heat of the day and quickly die out after dark. Most of our fronts approach late afternoon or evening.Last night was and exception as we had a front with a low moving along the front and around 10 pm the lightning and thunder began and lasted for until about 1 a.m.Some of it was spetacular.Thankfully no strong winds or hail with these storms, just a lot of brilliant lightning. Showers ended early this morning and we have sunshine with the risk of a popup shwr or storm here in the east until late morning. Hot day tomorrow, before another frontal system moves in for tomorrow night with more storms expected into Saturday, followed by cool canadian air into next week.
