UPDATE: 6:30 PM Saturday, 03/10/2012
The following is an update from Matt (Tornadodude) Phelps, who has been assembling teams and volunteering in both Harrisburg Illinois and Henryville Indiana for the past week. His most recent trip was to Henryville where he volunteered at the First Baptist Church:
"Yesterday we went to Henryville, Indiana and volunteered for a few hours, mainly unloading trailers with water, canned goods, etc.
The people were in great spirit, eager to rebuild, and overall thankful that it wasn't worse than it was.
Myself, Jeremiah Moran, Blaize Edwards, and Andrew Newcomb made the 2 hour drive from Washington, Indiana.
We will be trying to get back this weekend or a couple of days next week."
In addition to Matt and his team, Dylan Stanek has been volunteering in Henryville this week with Kayla Kirkpatrick at the FBC. More on what they've been doing when it bcomes available.
UPDATE: 4:30 PM Tuesday, 03/06/2012 Portlight teams will be on the ground in Henryville and Marysville Indiana tomorrow, rallying at the First Baptist Church in Henryville. Pastor Toby Jenkins of the First Baptist Church and his team will be giving assignments and directing the relief efforts.
Our team in Harrisburg will be wrapping up their activities there and will be moving to Henryville tonight.
More info as it becomes available.

UPDATE: 1:30 AM Sunday, 03/04/2012 Volunteers from colleges and churches made a strong showing in Harrisburg today. Team Rubicon and Portlight will push east to Indiana early Sunday, where volunteer work is still restricted because of gas leaks and continuing SAR (search and rescue) operations. We will provide part of the earliest response to these tornado stricken rural areas.
Further assessment teams are on site or enroute to locations hit by the latest outbreak; more information on their findings will be available here later today.
We are still looking for volunteers to form teams and assist in the clean up efforts; anyone interested in volunteering should email us here or add a comment below. You can also help by clicking the donate button. The need is immediate; teams will be working in all these areas for some time and you can help. Stay tuned here and our blog for updates.
UPDATE:

UPDATE:
9:30 PM Friday, 03/02/2012 After another day of severe weather, Harrisburg is not the only place in need. While we are concentrating efforts on Harrisburg, we are looking for volunteers to work clean up and relief in other areas hit by today's outbreak. Team Rubicon will be sending teams into the areas hardest hit today to do assessment and aid in the relief efforts and we intend to provide what volunteers we can to assist them in this effort. Henryville and Marysville Indiana will not be accessible to anyone but first responders for the next few days but when they open up to relief workers we want to be able to help out.
Again, anyone interested in volunteering should email us here or comment on our Wunderground.com blog. The need is immediate; teams will be working in all these areas for some time and you can help. Stay tuned here and our website for updates.
UPDATE:
1:30 PM Friday, 03/02/2012 Portlight volunteers are sheltering in the hospital in Harrisburg; Team Rubicon and Portlight volunteers are conducting assessment and emergency relief work and these teams are the only volunteer teams allowed to work in the Harrisburg area today.
Our thanks, by the way, to the people who have offered to volunteer themselves and their services so far today; you are all appreciated!
