November Winds hit Lake Michigan
An early fall windstorm hit southern Lake Michigan today. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph with more expected tomorrow. Went up to St. Joe Michigan and shot those lighthouses and will try our lighthouse tomorrow if I get the chance. Enjoy the sunset
Last Night's Aurora
Taken just South of Fairbanks during a period of high sunspot activity while it was -30F. When through 4 batteries - caught this picture during the early morning hours. If you like this picture, take a look at the others I have posted here, or, visit my web site. www.northpolegallery.com

First the floods & now the snow
Four weeks ago Snohomish Country was hit with a 100 year flood. Now we are getting snow approx. 4 to 6 weeks ahead of our normal winter weather.

Very Unusual cloud formation
This photo was uploaded by:
pcbman
According to Bay News 9 chief meteorologist Mike Clay, the cloud consisted of supercold - about 11 degrees below zero - water droplets at about 26,000 feet possibly disturbed by a jet which caused some of the droplets to evaporate and spread out, creating the hole.
I'm just glad I had my camera with me!
Here it comes!
The sun itself---and I must say I was happy to see it and anticipate its warmth! The rays illuminated the moving fog, which created continuous ethereal motion.

Sunbeams & Redwoods
Sunbeams shining through the redwood trees and low fog in the Big Basin State Park, California
Windy on the lake
The wind was blowing pretty hard, the sand would sting your face. The waves were quite high.
Sharp-Shinned Hawk
This little lady flew in and landed on the porch railing today... only about 25F outside, and I think she was sunning herself there. Very unconcerned about our Cockatoo's crying and the local Crows swooping about.
November Snow
A pre-Thanksgiving storm, unexpectedly dumped 8 to 12 inches of snow on the Rangeley Lakes Region of Maine. This house sits on the swiftly moving Rangeley River.

With just a hint of blue sky through the trees.
For days now, fog is so thick and heavy you can see the water particles dancing in the air currents, and that's about all you can see.. On the morning of the 22, for one glorious hour the sun appeared. Weakly at first, then blindingly bright in the fog, that lasted for about a half hour, then it was gradually back to fog again...and this morning is a repeat of past days. All pix taken in back of our property

I took this picture while walking in the nearby park. It was a rainy day, but the sun suddenly started shining through the trees, causing these nice rays. The intense colors are due to the fact that everything was wet and damp from the rain.

I have never seen them like this before! Wow..

It's time again for the Annual tree lighting atop of the space needle in Downtown Seattle. It really brings in the holday spirit and traditions around town.

Sunset in the trees
I love this photo. I was taking a picture of an abandoned building when I turned to see these two roads intersecting and the low sun casting amazing lines through the trees. This is an HDR from three images...one I'm so very proud of.
Glorious Sun
Heavy fog shrouded the trees all morning after an overnight rain. Gradually the rays started breaking through until this beautiful pattern developed.
