I was at the beach this weekend and had a great time. The water was so nice. Not many good waves for bodysurfing in the afternoon. Low tide. The tide started to come in around 5 and the waves started to get better.
A weird thing....I have never seen it....At 525pm the Lifeguards called everyone in. Then they left at 530pm and everyone got back in the water. I guess it is their way of saying when they left the water was clear and it keeps them from any controversy or lawsuits.

The Crabs were awesome. I go to the Crab Bag and get 1/2 bushel for $89. They are so good and full and spicy.

I don't thin out my carrots either. I had so many last summer. This past winter was really mild in NC. When it did freeze, I just covered them, and was picking carrots until I resowed them this spring.

I bet it is nice picking carrots in the winter. Some I buy and some I grow from seed. Carrots and Beets are from seed. Tomatoes and Cucumbers and Peppers and Onions from plants.

Let me know how your sweet potatoes do in this soil. Did you make it more sandy? I should try them next year.

My tomatoes have done well, so far. It has been crazy weather. My soil is still very wet. I guess I don't mind the rain as much. It was so dry for awhile. The grass is back, but so are the weeds

I heard it has been really hot in Florida. It's been hot and humid here, but not unbearable. I know what you mean about being busy.

Have you been drinking those Mojito's? I made a 1/2 gallon of them a few weeks ago and they were so good. I have never made that much at once.

My tomatoes are doing well and still producing. I made a yummy salsa with them and hot cherry peppers. My zuchini is still producing. I think next year I will try corn again. I have never had any luck growing them.

I just let my herbs flower. It doesn't matter with chives, that I know. Basil I am not sure, but I do know that basil grows like a weed.

I hope to get a good harvest from my potatoes. The plants were as good as always. I am waiting for the plants to die before I dig them up out of the ground. I will be sure to post pictures when I dig them

Here is my potato harvest. It wasn't my best harvest and the drought in mid-June to mid-July probably was the reason. Still not a bad harvest. I didn't have too much trouble with the Colorado Potato Beetle. They did show late and I hope they won't be back next year either.

The potatoes are Yukon Gold (the biggest), Russian Banana Fingerling, German Butterball (very delicious mashed, great flavor) and Red Gold.

Thanks Blizz. What is amazing with potatoes, you don't need to do much for them. Of course keep the pests off the plant. Mound the plants in the beginning. Then you just wait for them to die
