After a very wet and cold May and June, July has been hot and dry and now our first red flag warnings of the summer for dry lightning. Last year we barely hit 90 once. Besides the long cold spring that lasted till the first week of July its been pretty normal here in N.E. Washington state.
Keep an eye to the sky for the Perseid meteor showers this week. Best viewing will be the mornings of the 11, 12 & 13th when the now waning full moon is just a crescent.
