I operate your neighboring weather station in Northeast Tujunga and also have a backup weather station and used it with the recent rain. My regular weather station is the Wireless Davis Vantage 2 plus which includes solar radiation and ultraviolet index. Recently the Solar panel door which also protects the electronic parts from the weather came off and the electronic parts were completely soaked by our several days of rain
and the weather station would not send data but just dashed lines. I used my backup station a Davis cabled Vantage Pro 2 which lacks solar radiaton and ultraviolet inex. However my electronic parts that got so wet dried out today Christmas and the station works well now so I will put it back in operation. My Parkinsons condition made it a challenge to go up on the roof to close the door that protects the electronics. My backup station usually reads somewhat less rainfall than my usual station.
