	More critters!

Creating some blogs can be extremely easy; the Puppy Cam blog is an example; the thing just kind of wrote itself, and the cams that went with it were pretty easy to pick! This week, not so much! I've came across a couple of "critter cams", and have already used them in the comments section of this blog, and Rob's. So, do I recycle them as main cams in the blog, or park them for another time, as the titles from the last three blogs have an animal theme?(I know it's late, I'm tired, and I'm rambling, so bear with me, lol!)

Bottom line, I do this blog as much for the folks that stop by as much as I do it for myself! From the comments left by my friends here, you guys love critters! So critters it will be, for at least this go-around.

On a personal note, the family and I will be making a trip to Mammoth Cave Sunday. Monday, we are planning a canoe trip through the park on Green River. According to the canoe outfitters, and the NPS, the canoe trip will go through where the Mammoth Cave air quality cam shows the Green River. Although I've never seen a canoe on that cam, I shall endeavour to be at the sandbar at noon, CDT! If I can't make it there by then, I'll try to be there at 15, 30, 45 minutes, or at the top of the hour, when the cam picture updates. This is what I ask of you: if you see us waving to the cam(we may be specks on the sandbar, not sure how big people look at that spot), capture the photo, upload it to WU, and post it on this blog! If we can pull this off, that will totally rock!!

Now, if ya'll will excuse me, I'm going to stop at a convenience store, buy 40 lbs. of ice, throw it in the tub, fill it with water, and jump in! :)

Good morning Ylee. We finally got some rain from a little cell that went through last night, it even dropped a bit of hail for good measure. Temps outside at the time were registering 91F. Don't know how the hail managed to remain in form when its that hot. More of the same today with temps in the 90s and humidex readings in the low l00s. Oh what fun. We still have July and Aug yet....

Good sweltering morning! At 8AM, it's 85 with a heat index of 89! We will see what the day brings!

I'll try to get a new blog up today, time permitting!

Alley, I thought better of the ice-in-the-tub-thing, mainly for the reason you stated above, lol!

Your storm must have been very tall and powerful to create hail as warm as it was! Hope none of your plants were harmed!

My desktop computer here at work is a Compaq Glitchamatic. :) Every computer at the plant is part of a larger corporate network; for some reason, even though there are no plants or office facillities within hundreds of miles, our main server is in Houston, TX! If you click on the Revolver map near the top of the blog, you can find out the #1 visitor to this blog is from Houston. That is actually me!

Anyway, every computer here has a login name and password. For reasons unknown whenever I visit Bogon's blog, the computer will ask me to log in again. I used to exit out of IE6 and start over from scratch, but I just started re-logging in, and when I do that, I get more stuff! I can now see my webcounter and map, and the buttons have appeared above the comment text box!

Further investigation has it at Bogon's current blog, not his older ones. I haven't much of an idea of what the trigger is; perhaps it's the video LowerCal posted, as I can see it now!

Let's see what else I can find! :)

Maybe Bogan is using IE9, the new one out and its triggering yours to work more efficient. What they need to do is upgrade their IE as 6 is pretty obsolete.

Hot here too so I have all the curtains closed to keep it dark, helps to keep the house cooler therefore making it easier for the AC to cool efficiently.

Think I may go and lay down for a couple of hours before I have to decide what to make for dinner. Think I may broil a chicken breast and cut it up over some salad greens and homemade apple cider vinegar dressing....

Compaq Glitchamatic! Love it. Although I'm sure you don't. Catchy name.

I put my detective hat on and tracked down that Columbia Gorge cam. Found it at http://www.fsvisimages.com/, then clicked on the drop-down menu for Real Time Images and found Columbia River Gorge. They have a cool "Map It" button that showed why it looked familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. I only went as far east as The Dalles on my latest trek and this cam is at Wishram, about 10 miles farther east.

That site has got some nice views, so I bookmarked it to enjoy again in the future.

2:10pm and 67 degrees here, with some showers in the forecast. Wish I could send some of the coolth your way.

Oh my, Smudgie brought her kids with her for dinner tonite...Yes she has two, the little black one I saw running back to the garage the other day and tonite sitting with her on the front porch was her other little one, a cute little grey and white tabby kitten with a hint of gold on its head. What a cute little stinker that one is. No wonder she eats so much, she has to if she has been feeding these two. They are almost as big as her .....LOL Time to start putting toys out for the kids I guess..

Have you heard about the accident at a warehouse in MD that resulted from improper use of a forklift? I seem to think that recently there was a similar incident at your place of work. Here is a quote from an article:

"A forklift operator knocked over an enormous metal storage shelf loaded with documents. This caused a domino effect, pushing over rack after rack; eventually taking out a support for the roof."

Hi, Ylee ~ Long time, no cam perusal! The sled dogs are growing up, aren't they? And there's a person in with them just now - that's cool.

Speaking of, it sounds like everyone's suffering this time around. The highest heat index I saw this week was 123, but when I read your comment about the temperatures on the floor and your kevlar suit, I decided to shut up!

I stopped and brought a salad home for supper tonight that was unusual and scrumptious - salad greens with grilled chicken, pecans, cranberries, gorgonzola cheese and a raspberry vinagrette. Very good for hot weather!

We had quite a crane accident here - yesterday, I think. The operator was lifting up a concrete wall at a construction site - preformed stuff. Pulled him right over. It really was a bad scene. I never did see another article to know whether he survived, or how badly injured he was. Big machinery's fascinating, but...

I'm not sure if you're on tonight or not. If I can manage to keep at it a little longer, I'll check back. Hope all's well - stay cool!

I see the feeder cam did not upload and is stopped on the little deer at the salt lick that I saw last night. Battery must be running low.

Good evening! Another scorcher in the Bluegrass, just a tick cooler in Owensboro at 105! At least nights will be a bit cooler; really don't start seeing relief until 1-2AM!

I may get a new blog up tonight, but I'm not promising anything! Mama osprey has been absent the last few times I've checked out the cam, so I wonder if the chicks have hatched and she's looking for food?

Hi, Janet! No relief in sight for us, and you either! :( Extended forecast has us around 100 for the next week! When i got home from work last night, iced tea was most welcome! And no, I did not take the Nestea plunge, lol!

Alley, have you named the kittensw yet? If they are boys(one sounds like a girl, am I right?) you can call them Mush and Tony, lol! Especially if they turn out to be rascals! There was some nasty storms south of you yesterday, but I guess it wasn't part of a front, as you are still hot. Oh, well one can hope October gets here soon! :)

Pros, I had lost control of a 23,000 pound ingot at the beginning of the year, which causd some damage, but nothing like the mess you described! I've heard of a bay of Ragu spaghetti sauce at the plant in Owensboro biting the dust in that fashion. Talk about a mess!

Hi, Shore! with the new glitch on this computer, I can access your Wordpress site, but I haven't figured out how to get to my gmail account, so I've been unable to leave a comment! :( I did like it very much, though!

BTW, we are getting babies! I saw a doe with twin fawns frolicking in the soybean field in the distance this morning! As long as they stay away from our sweet corn! :)

Good morning YLee...yup the temps have dropped a whole 5 degrees for our daytime high today to 87F. Tomorrow back into the 90s again for most of the week. Sure wish there was a breeze.

No I have not named the kittens yet, not sure if they are both males or not, will have to wait till I can catch them playing at the new toy I am going to put out for them today. Its a combination cat scratcher, lounge, toy. Should keep them occupied. I bet even momma will be playing with it...LOL

Anyway have a great Sunday. One thing at nights, it is cooler for working.

I see you are home for a while and have really heated up over your way. We broke another record with our high today. a line of thunderstorms have moved through and cooled us down a bit. did not get enough rain to fill an eyedropper! It was enough to put a damper on our cookout. I had to drag out the rotisserie, I've never used it for short ribs so it could be an interesting supper tonight!

instead of the nestea plunge maybe "calgon take me away" would work better.

Its a l00F at the feeder. I doubt any animal will come out now until after dark when it starts to cool a bit. Not too too bad here now that we have a wee breeze but not something I would want to be out in for any length of time. I see they had a Canada Day Parade on my street. Did not even go and look at it. I was too busy watching great Youtube movies...a galley of ghost stories....oh ya.

Good evening! A nice line of tstorms came throughthis afternoon, with wind and plenty of lightning, but nary a drop of rain! :( Cooled things off a bit, but it's more humid than yesterday!

Probably give a pass on visiting other blogs until I get the new blog up. It's getting long in the tooth, IMO!

Alley, Meonus is a great name for a kitten! Gubber? Is that a fictional character? I don't blame you for not going out and watching the parade, it's just too dang hot!

Cal, I'm sure you'll be glad to enjoy the natural air conditioning of Alaska here shortly! Sounds nice!

Janet, I saw all the weather on the radar in the Carolinas this afternoon, but I guess you got the same type of storms that we did!

Don't know about a bubble bath, but a whirlpool tub would do wonders for my aching bones! :)

Rob, pups lead the lives of rock stars; webcam, utube, Flickr, Facebook, and they are constantly attended to by gov't employees!

Good morning you hard working man. Up and about, fed the kitties already, had to shoo away a young coon first before I set food for MS Smudgie who was dancing around looking rather upset that a coon was stealing her noms...LOL I have the door opened so I can see who is on the porch while I am up. Just keeping an eye out for that rascally coon in case he comes back.

Turned out the lights to sleep at 1 AM and yes I am up now for a wee bit.

Anyway, I guess I will check the porch one more time then head back to bed. Have a great shift.
