In Glacier National Park around 2009, the local utility erected a platform for osprey to nest on, in hopes of keeping them out of a nearby transformer. Glacier staff set up a webcam in order to watch the osprey in action, and were rewarded with chicks hatching, growing, and eventually taking flight!
However, 2011 and 2012 were sad years for the osprey cam, as the chicks were lost during a storm in 2011, and one of the mates died as a result of flying into nearby power lines in 2012. 2013 has arrived, and a new osprey couple has arrived at the nest, and we hope they can produce a successful brood!

Ode on the Spring BY THOMAS GRAY Lo! where the rosy-bosom'd Hours, Fair Venus' train appear, Disclose the long-expecting flowers, And wake the purple year! The Attic warbler pours her throat, Responsive to the cuckoo's note, The untaught harmony of spring: While whisp'ring pleasure as they fly, Cool zephyrs th...

In the early 13th century, the Incan Empire began in the town of Cusco, in Puru. Through military conquests, and adroit negotiations, over the next 300 years or more they expanded their territory to include parts of Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ucuador, Chile, and Argentina. By 1527, before the Spanish conquest, their kingdom was an estimated 770,000 square miles!
