	Contrail precipitate sundog

There were two very different sundogs in the sky this day and time. I took picutures of both of them.
This one in the Contrail precipitation was much farther from the sun, and fleeting.
It definitely shows a difference in how the altered clouds handle light.

Sundog? in dove in a hole?

This broad luminescence in ice precipitation from jet exhaust occured simultaneously but at a different distance and angle from a regular sun dog. Any Clues? Jets were poking holes in the stratus layer all over the place.

Good morning Biff4ugo: Nice photos! I like the one with the colored sundog. Some years ago I saw one with bright rainbow colors. I was driving a secondary road and had no camera so I pulled over and phoned my daughter about 20 miles away to go out and see it. She saw nothing there. Then I called another friend who lives "down sun" from where I was and we described the changing colors we could each see. He saw a similar sun dog but we saw different colors.
