Yes, RIP. Seeing the Brown sisters out on the streets of San Francisco did brighten up what may have been otherwise a dreary, perhaps foggy day. I was always amazed by how much 'energy' they had!!

Not quite as far south on the San Andreas fault as Pinnacles but an interesting stop along the way from the north. I haven't been to the Pinnacles since the film era of cameras. Haven't dug out the Pinnacles photos yet in my slow and tedious task of trying to 'digitize' my old film photographs.

'California's Gold' host Huell Howser dies at 67 By By SHAYA TAYEFE MOHAJER | Associated Press
Rest in Peace, Mr. Howser. I enjoyed his 'California Gold' show very much over the years. It inspired me to get out and try to see the Golden State. Being a transplant myself I shared his enthusiasm for California.
Once while I was shopping at Jensen's in Palm Springs, I saw him talking to a clerk in the store and he suddenly let out his, "That's Amazing!" I had to run across the store before I let out a burst of laughter. I didn't want to embarrass him as I was laughing with him more than at him. I thought he and his show were wonderful and so genuine.

Sea changes harming ocean now could someday undermine marine food chain New research by Seattle scientists shows that pteropods — tiny snail-like sea creatures crucial to marine food webs — are being damaged decades earlier than expected by ocean acidification, the souring of seas from human-caused carbon-dioxide emissions.

Century of Drought May Be Ahead in LiveScience

My condolences to the families of the victims of the Indian train fire. Travel on the train while in India was one of the highlights of many, many highlights in this amazing country.
India has one of the world's largest train networks, with more than 10,000 trains and 64,000km of track. Around 20 million people travel by train each day. AFP

World War II Ruins
The remnants of a World War II look out bunker that was once perched up on the cliff. Over the years erosion undermined it and it slowy slid down to the beach where it sits today, covered and uncovered by the shifting sand and tides, washed over by countless waves.

Caribbean blue
Spent a week on Grand Cayman, where the waters have that spectacular Caribbean blue. This shot is of the waters near Rum Point, where I did the touristy thing and petted tame sting rays at Stingray City. The snorkling and windsurfing were awesome all week. We stayed on the east end at Morritt's, and it was ideal for diving and windsurfing adventures.

The first (and I do mean first) Blennosperma of the season peeked its head out as if to see if the coast was clear before letting all the other flowers know it was OK to come out ;) (It's the earliest I've ever seen this species show up!)
