With the official start to winter I thought I'd bring back the snow-counting from Lakeshadow on Sully's blog back in the "old days." As I recall, this is an old Iroquois (Onondaga?) method. Well, winter officially began today with an extremely rare total lunar eclipse on a winter solstice full moon. Perhaps this portends plentiful powder? Well, it's that time again. Time to start think warm thoughts and preparing for all of the snowy goodness to come!According to NOAA's Climate Prediction Center,Link. Temps are forecast to stay a bit above normal for Oct then start to get back to near normal. We may see temperatures falling below normal for the second half of winter when the chances for above normal precipitation increase as well, great news for us snow lovers.
