	The Prairie Continues to Bake With No Releif In Sight

Yesterday we were hotter than parts of central Africa.
I took Abbey out for a short walk yesterday and we skipped the gopher trails. The silly little dog just won't give up the gopher chase, I think she'd run until she was overcome by heat stroke.
I stayed inside most of the day and worked at cleaning up the mess as I've been leaving behind. Today I'll finish up the job and continue to stay indoors.

With extreme temperatures expected to sweep Portage la Prairie this week the Southern Regional Health Authority has a few reminders to stay safe this summer.
Dr. Denis Fortier, Vice President of Medical Services says, both the heat and humidity play a significant role in our well being. Fortier notes when the thermometer rises above 27 degrees and the humidity sits at 70 percent it's imperative to seek shade and stay hydrated. He adds we lose an average of 3 cups of water a day, just breathing, and when heat is involved that can jump to litres a day. Fortier says some signs of heat stroke include headache, nausea, weakness, and confusion.

Good morning Tony: I just read your comment about your pressure tank over at Ylee's. I finally put in a new tank because I got bored with draining and recharging the old tank. I used to precharge the drained tank with compressed air but have not had to mess with the new one for over a year. Starting to warm up here too. Forecast to get to 25 today and 31C on Sunday.
