Afternoon BriarCraft:
Well, I am starting to think now - I have to. I still go up anyway because that is what I know and did for most of my working life. In fact I must enjoy it or I would stay on the "hard" but Gunther is almost as worn as I am and he's up there and you know we were taught to hold up our end. Where are all the young, strong and interested carpenters and other service workers? From what I see most are still being trained in "Work Safe", First Aid and building codes. By the time they nail the first board to the footing (I know they don't nail boards to footings) they would need to call for an inspection of the site.
How are we going to maintain the infrastructure we use daily let alone build anything new with the pile of regulations hanging precariously over us?
If my memory serves me well you had a blog up here about maintaining the road to your house.

I did a search and got lost in Google's promotion department so I went back in my blog archive thinking that since I had found the match I would have put it up here but no joy. All I found was the quote above.
Does anybody remember a reference?

I just found this poem:

L8R: Mom quoted one of the lines and I searched a bit and found the poem. Phoned her again and tried to walk her through finding her G-mail so I could send the poem (actually I had sent it to her mail already) but I'm not really a tech and can't remember what her screen view is so we both got somewhat frustrated and shut down.
Somebody will drop in to use her computer so they can probably find the poem.

Finally found the music OrangeRoses: I like the song and the ideas brought to it. I especially enjoy any music folks link here or on other blogs. At this point I have not downloaded any music on to the iPod because I can come here pretty well any time and find a tune someone has chosen. I find I can't listen and think and type all at once though. Oh yeah: the girl with the umbrella also swapped her broken ear buds for my working ones so I'm pretty sure she is my grand daughter.
Jethro Tull is/was also a favorite.

Afternoon Ylee:
Today Gunther and I were doing "back-frame", that is: all the decisions and pokey little bits of the frame and walls we had skipped to get the metal roof finished. No big payoff for the hours spent but it has to be done and now at least we are working under shelter.
Since there has never been anything more than a concept drawing on paper and we made it up as we went along there are some intricate fits up in those rafters.
" I'm doing my little bit to help the company thrive despite itself, lol!
Could be why you get a lot of O.T. eh?

By the way I'm keeping an eye on the Dogwoods and they seem to be doing fine. We have had enough rain and cool weather to offset their increased exposure. The next few days are forecast to get up to 31C which may seem cool to some folks but for us "Ents" around here it's hot enough.
Hi Pros: Thanks for the butterflies and flowers. Brightens the blog up like a good thing. If my latest photo upload ever shows up I'll try to figure out how to bring it over to the "Paper Blog".
Ylee: Seems like you go home about the time I get up. Saw some bright lava fountain on the Hawaii cam this morning.

The massive rock slid down into the sea and the sun,sea and wind worked on the details for many years before I noticed.
