The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a * Flood Warning for the Cedar River at Cedar Rapids. * Until Sunday morning. * At 10:15 am Wednesday the stage was 8.1 feet. * Flood stage is 12 feet. * No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... rise above flood stage Friday... and continue rising to 13.3 feet Saturday morning. Fall below flood stage Sunday morning. * Impact... at 13 feet... water affects the lowest residences in Cedar Bluff.
A trained spotter reported sighting funnel clouds near Muscatine around 630 PM CDT. These funnel clouds are associated with showers occurring around an upper level low pressure system.
Additional funnels are possible early this evening. These funnels are typically short lived and rarely touch down. The atmospheric conditions these funnels are developing in do not support strong... damaging tornadoes.
In the unusual case they do touch down... they should be on the ground only briefly and produce minimal... if any damage. However... if threatening weather conditions approach your location... move indoors to a place of safety.
