Very heavy showers and the most active line of thunderstorms continues to develop and redevelop over the east central third of Minnesota from Gaylord and Le Sueur to the Twin Cities. Expect temporary street flooding and possibly basement flooding. Also thunderstorms with small hail. Most of the hail is a pea sized. At the same time...multiple bands of showers are falling across the rest of eastern Minnesota from Brainerd and Little Falls to Lake Mille lacs and the Twin City Metro. Periods of very heavy rain falls with half inch to 1.5 inches and small hail are expected along and near the Minnesota river from Le Sueur through the Twin Cities...until noon today.

At 934 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Radar and local spotters are reporting 1 to 3 inches of rain across portions of the advisory area this morning. The rain will move out of the area by 1030.
Runoff from this excessive rainfall may cause minor flooding to occur. Some locations that may experience flooding include... Minneapolis... Bloomington... Eagan... Eden Prairie... Excelsior... Minnetonka... Plymouth... St Louis Park... the Lake Minnetonka area... Twin Cities Airport and Waconia.
Nearly 2 inches fell within a couple hour period in Edina this morning.
