Snow after midnight. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Temperatures nearly steady 15 to 18. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 100 percent.
Snow early in the morning...then cloudy with chance of snow late in the morning. Partly cloudy in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Total snow accumulation 2 to 4 inches. Highs 16 to 20. Then temperatures falling into the upper single digits late afternoon. Lowest wind chill readings 5 below to 15 below zero in the afternoon. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of precipitation 100 percent.
Mostly clear in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Bitterly cold. Lows 4 to 8 below...except 2 below to 2 above zero downtown. Wind chills as low as 15 below to 25 below zero. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
Partly cloudy. Highs 16 to 20. Lowest wind chill readings 10 below to 20 below zero in the morning. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph in the morning becoming 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

* timing... snow will spread east across the advisory area between midnight and 3 am... peaking in intensity over north central Illinois between 2 and 6 am CST... and over the Chicago area between 4 and 8 am CST.
* Accumulation... storm total snow accumulation 2 to 4 inches.
* Main impact... the snowfall overnight and the continued snowfall in the morning will likely result in treacherous traveling conditions for the Wednesday morning rush hour... with snowfall rates of one half to one inch per hour possible with the most intense snow.
* Other impacts... very cold temperatures will make regular non- treated Road salt less effective... with cold temperatures resulting in snow immediately accumulating on roadways.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads... limited visibilities... and very difficult travel conditions.
