West winds of 15 to 25 mph will continue in and at the base of the Front Range foothills through mid morning. Peak gusts in wind prone areas will reach 35 to 50 mph. Light snow will develop over the higher foothills mainly along the peak to peak Highway between Blackhawk and Estes Park where up to a half inch of snow can be expected.

* Timing... strong winds may develop arouund sunrise on Tuesday and continue through the afternoon.
* Winds... northwest 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 75 mph.
* Impacts... lightweight objects and high profile vehicles may be affected by the strong gusty winds.
Remember... a high wind watch means that strong and potentially damaging winds may occur. Persons in the watch area should remain alert to the possibility of high winds and be prepared to take action should high winds develop. Drivers along north-south roadways such as the peak to peak Highway and along Highway 93 south of Boulder should consider avoiding these routes or delaying travel if the high winds develop.
