Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:50 PM MDT on July 31, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...
east central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 945 PM MST

* at 644 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated several areas of heavy
rain due to thunderstorms. An initial line of storms is producing
very heavy rain north of Benson with radar rainfall estimates
locally over two inches thus far. Another line of storms is
moving northwest over Benson and areas east along Interstate 10.
This will move across the same area impacted by heavy rain earlier
this evening.

This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area with an additional inch or more rain possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Benson... Cochise... St. David... Kansas Settlement... Saint David...
kartchner caverns State Park... Dragoon... Muleshoe ranch preserve...
Cascabel... Mescal and I-10 and Texas Canyon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as running
water in rural small streams and washes affecting farms and country
roads. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate
routes as the water depth may be too great to allow your car to
cross safely.
