Yep, Dorothy, that was a conscious decision. I wanted to get the sun in that gap between the branches, and wanted to get the right angle and zoom to get that bit of layering in the foreground, too. I've taken some good lessons... :)

And Chris, yep, that was one thing that drew me to this scene, the soft almost pastel-like colors, contrasting with the stark hardness of the tree-branches.

Thanks! It was pretty peaceful. The clouds were rolling in, covering up the sun through thicker and thicker layers, and while I underexposed somewhat to preserve the subtle bands of colors in the sky, I wish the foreground could've been just a little more brightly lit, to show the small pockets of snow still left on the ground. That would've given it a more "wintery feel".

Next on my wish-list is a 77mm NDG, I guess... :D
