May be summer , but the spring weather and moisture are sticking around ( thankfully ) . I shot this one in color about a month ago , thought I'd try it in black and white / sepia .

Great stuff as usual Tim. I studied history in college so I always wonder about the people who used to work the land and why they left so many important things behind. I find it a bit sad that there are so many homes, tools, cars, and farm implements that are abandoned. It speaks of failed dreams and broken lives. Your shots often bring out those emotions for me. Hey Thanks Mark for the comment ! I can totally understand where you are coming from . The area that I shot this at has several old plows and broken pieces of farm equipment that have been buried under years neglect and blowing dirt storms . I don't know the story of this place , other than what the old equipment "tells" . This entire process can be a bit bitter-sweet at times . Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thank you for your comments and have a GREAT day !
