West Texas horned toad ( sp. sharpus spinyskulliccus ) . I was busy disconnecting a gas meter when this little fellow showed up . So , I did the the natural thing and postponed my gas inspection to get a few pics of this guy . ( kidding )

I know that as a defense mechanism these lil' guys can squirt a small atream of blood from their eye socket . Oh my, I haven't seen one of these in a long time. Like in a previous comment above, I played with these when I was younger, but now they have nearly all disappeared thanks to fire ants.....I will take the horny toad any day over fire ants! Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire .
